Furthering LPL Financial’s commitment to talent development and to nurturing a diverse and inclusive workplace, two LPL attorneys are taking part in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) 2019 Fellows Program. Erin Dempsey and Ryder Hill were selected to join this year’s class of experienced attorneys from diverse backgrounds who are recognized as future leaders in their organizations.

“It is a privilege and an honor to have LPL support my nomination and to be selected as a 2019 Fellow,” said Ryder Hill, senior vice president and associate general counsel, Compliance Legal & Risk. “Diversity and inclusion are of paramount importance to me not only from a personal workplace perspective but also as a woman in the financial services industry. I am proud to be part of a company that makes a conscious decision to prioritize diversity and inclusion.”

Created in 2011, the LCLD Fellows program connects promising attorneys with leaders from prominent organizations in the legal field. The Fellows benefit from a series of professional development activities that provide exclusive opportunities to network and learn in a mentorship process.

With a background in industrial organizational psychology, Erin Dempsey, assistant vice president and associate counsel, Compliance, Legal and Risk, said she is eager to affect change. “I would like to focus on change at a micro level, to help motivate employees.  A diverse and inclusive workplace creates opportunities for employees to succeed and for the company to grow.”

This year’s Fellows follow in the footsteps of other LPL Financial attorneys who have benefited from the LCLD program, including last year’s participants, Andrea J. Ferranti and Autumn Crowell. “It is a conscious decision to maintain an inclusive atmosphere in the workplace and promote diversity to empower employees to be successful. Through programming, community building and training and development, we strive to create a workplace where everyone can bring their whole self to work so they can deliver their best,” said Peggy Ho, executive vice president, Chief of Staff – Compliance, Legal & Risk. “Ryder and Erin are respected attorneys and dedicated to serving with a purpose. We look forward to the insights they gather and the actions they will take to further enhance their careers and our workplace.”
