This ranking leverages data from JUST Capital’s 2021 Rankings of America’s Most JUST Companies. To produce the annual Rankings of America's Most JUST Companies, Forbes uses both qualitative focus groups and quantitative surveys to understand public opinion on what represents just corporate behavior. The company uses survey results to develop metrics and collect data on how companies in the Russell 1000 Index perform on these issues. Ranking companies are then given the opportunity to review their data and submit suggestions for revision before ranking is finalized. 2Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality Perfect Score Annual Corporate Equality Index, Human Rights Campaign Foundation, 2018 – 2022

The HRC Foundation’s current version of the CEI criteria, requires the following standards be met by each employer in order to achieve a perfect score: have sexual orientation and gender identity non-discrimination protections explicitly included in all operations, both within the U.S. and extending to global operations; requiring all U.S. contractors to abide by companies' existing inclusive non-discrimination policies; and implementation of internal requirements prohibiting company/law firm philanthropic giving to non-religious organizations that have a written policy of discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity; these criteria went into effect in 2015 (for the CEI 2016 report). The CEI criteria are consistent and reliable, and new questions and practices are introduced with at least 12 months-notice. View the 2022 HRC report.

3Technology Innovation, Bank Insurance & Securities Association (BISA) 2020, 2022

The BISA Technology Innovation Award is designed to recognize leadership in the advancement of the financial services industry's products, services and platforms through technology innovation. This award highlights companies for their commitment to advancements in technology-based solutions for the industry. The BISA Technology Innovation Award recipients are featured throughout the BISA Annual Convention in March of each year, including signage at their exhibit booth and recognition during the Award Presentation. 4Innovation Award, InvestmentNews, 2019

The Innovation awards for firms are designed to recognize the creative and novel improvements, big and small, that help financial advisers take care of their clients, run their businesses and boost client outcomes. WealthManagement.com Industry Awards is the only awards program to honor outstanding achievements by companies and organizations that support financial advisor success. The WealthManagement.com Industry Awards celebrates the companies, individuals and organizations that demonstrate outstanding achievement in support of financial advisor success. Criteria for category includes: a new initiative or program, or an enhancement to an existing Transition platform that helps RIAs onboard their clients and business to a new or different custodian. Initiatives can include areas such as dedicated professionals, easy to use transition tools/resources, process improvements, speed of onboarding, client communications, etc., and criteria include quantitative measures along with qualitative measures such as innovation, creativity, new methods of delivery, etc.

6Diversity Champion, InvestmentNews, 2019

The Excellence in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Awards recognize firms for their efforts to foster diversity, equity and inclusion within their own practice or within the financial advice profession. The Outstanding Practice Awards honors firms with initiatives that demonstrate results showing a transformation of the organizational makeup or culture of the firm or its client base through the inclusion of diverse groups. The Diversity Champion Awards recognize firms that have internal programs to increase diversity or external campaigns to improve financial literacy among diverse groups in the financial advice business. 7LUMINARIES, ThinkAdvisor, 2021

ThinkAdvisor’s LUMINARIES Awards program began in 2021 and includes four categories: Diversity & Inclusion, Thought Leadership, Executive Leadership, and Deal making/Growth. In evaluating entries, the judging panel takes into account a number of factors, including: nominee’s impact on the firm, its advisors and the broader professional community and industry, as well as on the landscape of clients, prospective clients, investors and would-be investors nationwide. Quantitative and qualitative data is considered such as the number of advisors affected by the nominee and a clear description of the innovative way the nominee has contributed to the particular program, firm and broader community, and industry. Additionally, criteria involve a nominee’s demonstrated ability to achieve goals and display ingenuity in terms of creative thinking and problem solving and a description of the nominee’s dedication to furthering the development of advisors and the industry. 8America’s Most Responsible Companies, Newsweek Statista, 2021

List inclusions are decided based on publicly available key performance indicators derived from CSR Reports, Sustainability Reports, and Corporate Citizenship Reports and an independent survey, with data analysis through a 4-stage process. A pool of over 2,000 companies were screened by different criteria, with a detailed analysis that followed. This analysis included data from an independent survey among more than 7,500 U.S. residents, with each company eventually earning a score based on performance and analysis of KPI’s. The final list recognizes the top 400 most responsible companies in the United States, spanning 14 industries: Automotive & Components, Capital Goods, Consumer Goods, Energy & Utilities, Entertainment, Leisure & Dining, Financial, Health Care & Life Sciences, Materials, Professional Services, Real Estate & Housing, Retail, Software & Telecommunications, Technology Hardware and Travel, Transport & Logistics.
