LPL Financial partners with military to provide career opportunities for veterans

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Nov. 12, 2018 – LPL Financial LLC, a leading retail investment advisory firm and independent broker-dealer, today announced that it has partnered with the U.S. Army Reserve to provide soldiers with opportunities to pursue careers in financial advice. As a corporate partner of the U.S. Army Reserve Private Public Partnership (P3) program, LPL is connecting military members to its Independent Advisor Institute, a new program that matches experienced advisors with new-to-the-industry advisors to accelerate career development while supporting existing advisor growth. LPL is also creating awareness for career opportunities within the firm.

“The P3 partnership is a unique opportunity to support LPL’s efforts to increase diversity and grow our advisor population,” said Jeffrey Czajka, LPL Financial vice president, Corporate Strategy, and head of the Independent Advisor Institute. “Our military and our advisors share a commitment to serve, and we are proud to offer veterans a chance to transition to a new career through our Independent Advisor Institute.”

The P3 program helps its corporate partners attract, develop and retain talent by giving soldiers access to opportunities that align with the skills they developed during their military career. P3 program representatives are located throughout the country and are dedicated to providing career advancement support to the Army community.

Associate advisors selected for the Independent Advisor Institute have the support of LPL and the managing advisor throughout their first year to create better outcomes for their success. The associate advisor’s compensation is subsidized for one year, providing income assurance as the advisor develops the skills and earns the licensing necessary to become a producing independent financial advisor. They also take part in a structured training and development program throughout their first year. The programming focuses on providing support to help them earn their licenses, education on LPL’s new technologies, and sales and advice skills necessary to help investors pursue their financial goals. Managing advisors provide ongoing mentorship and on-the-job-training, with continuing support from LPL to help associates build on their skills in ways that can add the most value to their firm.

LPL advisor Dryden Pence, chief investment officer for Pence Wealth Management and retired U.S. Army Reserve service member, provided input on the design of the IAI program and played an integral role to develop the relationship between LPL and P3. “I’m proud to be associated with a firm that wants to create opportunities for soldiers to pursue meaningful civilian careers. Soldiers value loyalty, dedication, responsibility and a commitment to independence. Those qualities, paired with training and support, can serve clients well. I look forward to welcoming more veterans to LPL.”
