CHARLOTTE, N.C. – June 29, 2022 – LPL Financial LLC announced today that financial advisor Alex Ramos, has joined LPL Financial, affiliating with Excel Wealth Management, LLC, an existing firm supported by LPL’s hybrid RIA platform. He reported having managed approximately $800m in AUM.* He joins from BNY Mellon Wealth Management.

Ramos brings decades of experience in financial advising, portfolio management and corporate finance at some of the top financial institutions, lending him a unique and comprehensive perspective on investing. “I’m excited to get back in the game of actively managing client assets and providing them with the comprehensive strategies they need,” said Ramos.

What drove the return to financial advisory

Ramos says that LPL’s robust technology platform, open architecture, lending capabilities and its affiliated trust company influenced his decision to return to actively managing portfolios.

“LPL delivers an impressive investment platform which I believe allows me to deliver the best investment thinking for my clients.  Their formidable technology platform allows me to expedite workflows so I can spend more time serving my clients. With access to their affiliated Trust Company, nothing gets lost when handling complex fiduciary matters.  I believe it’s the best of both worlds: full-service capabilities without the ‘red tape’ of large institutions and innovative tech that affords my clients a better experience.”

Born and raised in Mexico City, Ramos is fluent in Spanish and French and conversational in Dutch and Portuguese. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to attend Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, in Belgium. Currently, he resides in Connecticut with his wife and two children. During his downtime, Alex enjoys providing financial literacy workshops to the Hispanic Community in Connecticut and is a Member of The Circle of Care boards – an organization assisting Connecticut families with emotional and financial assistance whose children are going through cancer treatment.

Scott Posner, LPL executive vice president, Business Development, added, “At LPL, we aim to empower our advisors by building secure, scalable and flexible infrastructures. We believe that when we prioritize the right technology and the right service offerings, our advisors can do what they love to do even better. Alex's return to actively managing portfolios illustrates the success of our methodology and we're thrilled he's joining us.”

As a partner and part of the executive committee at Excel Wealth Management, Ramos is responsible for asset allocation and positioning of client portfolios, and contributing to the firm’s strategic growth initiatives.
