This year marks the 15th anniversary of LPL Financials' Initial Public Offering (IPO) — a pivotal moment that transformed LPL from a private company into a publicly-traded firm.

This milestone unlocked new opportunities for growth, innovation, and long-term value creation for our clients, employees, and shareholders. Since our public offering, LPL has quietly grown into a leading wealth management firm, serving over 32,000 advisors and more than 1,100 institutions, all while staying true to our mission. And on December 8, we return to New York City to ring the Nasdaq opening bell to recognize how far we’ve come and to celebrate our bold vision for the future.

Since day one, we’ve focused on supporting financial advisors and institutions, helping them deliver valuable independent advice to their clients. Now, we’re building on that strong foundation and sharing our story more broadly. That’s why, as part of the celebration in December, we also took over Times Square, engaging a global audience in the powerful question: “What If You Could?”℠

We started this effort through the “What If You Could?” marketing campaign, launched in May to drive awareness and recognition of LPL, as well as the many advisors and institutions that partner with us. The campaign is intended to inspire possibility — asking a question designed to spark curiosity, challenge legacy perceptions, and elevate awareness of LPL as a leader in wealth management.

We set out in 1989 to be a trusted alternative to Wall Street firms and expand independent financial advice to all who need it. We wondered if we could. And we did.
