CHARLOTTE, NC– May 09, 2019 – LPL Financial LLC, a leading retail investment advisory firm and independent broker-dealer, today announced that financial advisor Graham Nelson has joined LPL Financial’s broker-dealer and corporate registered investment advisor (RIA) platforms. Nelson reported having served approximately $130 million of client brokerage and advisory assets*. He joins from Cadaret Grant & Co.
Nelson co-founded the Clinton, N.Y.-based Mohawk Valley Capital Management in 2004, electing to stay near his hometown after college when most of his classmates were moving to large cities to begin their careers. “I wanted to stay near my family and help locals with financial issues. Through networking and word of mouth, I built my practice one client at a time,” Nelson said, by providing clients comprehensive, individualized financial advice with no minimums.
Before joining LPL, Nelson served as advisor as well as the firm’s OSJ Manager, supporting five additional independent advisors. He chose to move to LPL Financial to evolve his business model, choosing to outsource back office functions by aligning with the firm’s corporate RIA and focusing on growth by building an LPL practice to attract advisors and clients.
